
CAMROSE POLICE REPORT
May 11, 2023
Police responded to the downtown area for a suspicious person complaint involving an edged weapon. Police located a male in possession of a hunting knife and determined he was breaching a release order. The male was arrested and found possess a small quantity of methamphetamine. The male was held for a bail hearing and later released by Justice of the Peace on cash bail.
Police observed a female in a downtown parking lot who was known to have warrants for extensive property crimes. Upon her arrest she was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl. She was held for a bail hearing and later remanded into custody by Justice of the Peace.
Two reports were received of property being stolen from residences after deliveries were left on the doorstep.
** A Police reminder to the public that the risk of theft is substantially higher when deliveries are left unattended. It is recommended that residents are home to accept deliveries, deliveries are sent to a secure address, or a theft prevention device is utilized to accept deliveries such as a secured mailbox or dropbox.
**Another reminder from Police that fraud incidents are on the rise with the latest grandparent scam evolving from phone calls to physical presence. Several instances have been noted by other Alberta agencies where criminals are first making contact by phone and then arranging to either meet the victim to accept the money or even take then to the bank to access the money. Although no violence has been reported in these incidents, there is risk for it to occur. Police strongly recommend the public to be weary of such scams and to report any suspicious activity to Police.
May 10, 2023
A female was assaulted in the downtown area after confronting another female who was in possession of property that was stolen from her. The assaultive female was observed by Police and arrested on scene. The 35-year-old was lodged for a bail hearing for numerous charges including assault with a weapon and uttering threats; she was also wanted on 7 outstanding warrants. The female remanded into custody by Justice of the Peace.
A traffic stop found the driver to display signs of impairment by drug which were confirmed through field sobriety tests. The driver was issued a licence suspension and his vehicle towed. Police also located prohibited weapons and various quantities of hashish, heroin, methamphetamine, and cannabis. The driver and his female passenger are facing numerous charges related to weapons and controlled substances.

Employees reported that someone had stolen $10,000 worth of copper wire from a construction site. Police are investigating.
Police responded to a complaint involving an unconscious male in an alley. Police found the male in medical distress from an apparent overdose. EMS attended and the male was left in their care.
A 3-vehicle collision was reported at 48 Ave and Mt. Pleasant Drive. Police determined a driver had experienced a medical episode which led them to rear ending a vehicle which then struck another. Injuries were deemed minor and the driver was assisted by EMS.

Police are investigating several mischief complaints of minor damage to property.
Police were called to a number of westside business for a female that was behaving suspiciously. The female wa located and appeared to be suffering with mental illness. She was left in the care of family. Later in the evening the same female was found to be wandering through yards and leaving personal property behind. Police again located her, determining she was in need of further mental health assistance and conveyed her to an assessment center for assistance.

Multiple complaints of a suspicious female standing and laying in the middle of the road spreading her property everywhere. Police located the property which had medication belonging to a female who was later found outside of her residence and arrested for warrants. She was held for a bail hearing.

A female with warrants was located at her residence and arrested on behalf of another police agency. She was later released to appear in court.
A 911 call was received for a male in distress. The male was located at his residence and found to be having medical issues. He was left in the care of EMS.
A resident reported hearing power tools near their neighbours motorhome during the night and observed a subject flee from the area after confronting them. It was determined a catalytic converter was stolen from the motorhome.

A city employee reported an abandoned truck on City property. Police found the truck was reported stolen a few days earlier. The vehicle was removed and the owner notified. While recovering the vehicle Police noted a suspicious truck in the area which was driving through the parks. A traffic stop was attempted and the vehicle fled the area at a high rate of speed. Police have several leads on suspects.
Police received a complaint of fraud after a Paypal account was compromised and transactions were completed using the owner’s information. Police are investigating.

Another cryptocurrency fraud was reported to Police similar to those reported on May 2nd. *** Police are reminding the public not to engage in any money transfers or purchases of financial product unless the transaction is verified to be legitimate. Scammers rush decisions and will demand secrecy, which is one of the main strategies used to commit fraud.
Two youths were apprehended for shoplifting at west end business. Police became involved and the youths are facing consequences outside the justice system.
Police mediated numerous landlord-tenant disputes regarding eviction and property damage.

While on patrol Police observed a male who was breaching a curfew condition. Upon arrest the male was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. He was later released from custody.
Police responded to a break and enter at a residence and found a male suffering from mental illness had entered the suite. Assistance was provided for mental health assessment and the male is also scheduled to appear in court.

Police received 2 separate reports of fraud involving cryptocurrency. The suspect had contacted the victim advising they had leftover money in an old account, which required new deposits through cryptocurrency to reactivate it. Once the exchange was made to cryptocurrency, the money was lost and fully accessible to the scammer.

A traffic stop found the male driver to have a suspended licence and a warrant for unpaid fines. The male was arrested and his vehicle seized.
A female was lodged in Police cells after her arrest for several warrants. After her release she was subject of another complaint for stealing a wallet and other property, which she was found to be in possession of. The female was arrested and re-lodged for a bail hearing from which she was remanded into custody.
A break and enter to a shed in the 52 ave and 45 street area was reported. Several items were stolen including drums, tools, tires, and a mattress.

Police responded to numerous 911 calls and mediated several disputes involving property and trespassing throughout the day. Alcohol intoxication was a contributing factor in many incidents.
A traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a male passenger for outstanding warrants. The male provided a false identity and was found to be breaching numerous release conditions. He was held for a bail hearing and issued tickets for alcohol offences and smoking in a vehicle with a child present. He was later released on cash bail.
April 29, 2023
Police received a report of an intoxicated person laying on the ground near a residence. Police discovered the subject was in medical distress and they were left in the care of EMS.
A fraud complaint was received regarding a personal cheque, which was many years old, had recently been written to an unknown person. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.
Police mediated a civil dispute involving the sale of vehicles which were originally reported stolen.
A male was arrested on several outstanding warrants for weapons and property crimes from multiple agencies in Alberta. He was held for a bail hearing and later released on cash bail.
April 28, 2023
Police received another report of a “grandparent” scam. The suspect posed as a grandchild and requested gift cards to be purchased and sent to help them in a dire situation.
Police arrested a male in relation to an assault that occurred outside a residence. The attack was unprovoked and appeared to be discriminatory.
A traffic stop was conducted and the male driver was arrested for breaching release conditions. Roadside breath screening was also conducted which resulted in a licence suspension and vehicle seizure.

A female was arrested on warrant for breaching release conditions. She was later released by Justice of the Peace.
Police responded to a roll-over collision near the east side of Camrose. Reports were received that the driver was operating the vehicle carelessly which caused the single vehicle collision. Police continue to investigate.
April 26, 2023
Police attended a multi-dwelling residence to assist Public Health with an inspection of the premises. The Inspector deemed the building unfit for inhabitation and eviction notice was served to the occupant to vacate. During the Public Health inspection Police arrested a male for obstructing the process and determined he also provided a false name. The male was also found to have warrants and have illicit drugs and prohibited weapons in his possession. The male was held for a bail hearing.
Police observed a male known to have warrants for breaching release conditions. The male was arrested and lodged for a release hearing.
Police responded to complaints of equipment noise within an unoccupied property on the outskirts of the city. A male was found to be harvesting trees for firewood without the owner’s permission. Police are investigating potential charges.
Police responded to a residence after a female was reported to be at risk of immanent harm to herself. Police found the female to be grossly intoxicated and apprehended her, she was lodged to sober. She was later released and assistance was rendered in seeking mental health treatment.
Police were called to a residential area where an intoxicated male was causing a disturbance with irrational behaviour. Police located the male and attempted to negotiate a calm resolution, but the male refused to de-escalate resulting in him being subdued and arrested. The male was held in custody until sober.
April 25, 2023
Police assisted an outside agency with surveillance arrest of a male wanted on Canada-wide warrants.
Police investigation resulted in recovery of valuable property that was recently reported stolen. The property was returned to owner, however charges could not be laid at this time due to lack of evidence.
Police were called to a disturbance involving an intoxicated female in a residence. Police mediated and the female agreed to settle for the night under supervision of sober adults. Police were later called back to the residence as the female was causing further problems. She was arrested to keep the peace and lodged in Police cells until sober.
April 24, 2023
An east-end business reported damage to their building that occurred over the weekend. Initial Police investigation determined a single bullet had penetrated a window and was found lodged within an interior wall. The investigation continues with forensic leads developing.
Police are investigating a fraud at a local bank after an account was opened with false identification.
A traffic stop resulted in the arrest of the male driver for warrants. The male was released to appear in court.

Numerous complaints regarding suspicious activity, disturbances, and intoxication were investigated resulting mediation and deemed non-criminal.
Two separate thefts were reported from a west-end business. Police are investigating.
April 22, 2023
Police observed a vehicle being operated by a male known to have a suspended licence. A traffic stop was initiated and the male attempted to flee, however he was quickly apprehended. The male is facing multiple charges and his vehicle was seized.
Police responded to a residence regarding a male that was causing a disturbance and attempting to set fire to some property. The male was found to have mental health concerns and was conveyed to hospital for assessment.
Police conducted a traffic stop and found the male driver, 26, to be intoxicated by alcohol. Impaired driving sanctions were implemented and his vehicle seized.
April 21, 2023
Police assisted EMS with a violent patient that was overdosing on drugs. The male became compliant and was left in care of EMS.
A business reported a patron had left their restaurant without paying their bill. Police arrested a 53-year-old female in relation to the incident and determined she also had outstanding warrants. The female was held for a bail hearing and later released from custody.
Police apprehended a youth pursuant to an order granted for protection of children abusing drugs. The youth was conveyed to a safehouse for treatment.
April 20, 2023
Police received a complaint of an abandoned child in a stroller near an apartment building and found it to be empty upon arrival. While searching the area Police located a 27-year-old female that claimed to be the mother of the 18 month old who was now inside a residence. Police determined the female had outstanding warrants and she was subsequently arrested. It was also determined the female was unfit to care for the child, who was then apprehended by Children and Family Services.
Police were conducting release compliance checks and found a female to have an outstanding warrant. She was arrested and later released.
A 40-year-old male was found to be breaching his curfew conditions related to a previous Release Order. He was subsequently arrested and Police located illicit drugs in the male’s possession. The male is scheduled to appear before the court.
April 19, 2023
Numerous thefts of property were reported from unlocked vehicles, residential yards, and businesses.
A 44-year-old male was arrested for breaching conditions of an Emergency Protection Order. Bail was denied and he was remanded into custody.
A vehicle was reported stolen from a gas station after being left unattended with keys inside. The vehicle was later recovered a short distance away, however the keys and personal property were stolen from inside.

A break and enter was reported where a garage door remote was stolen from an unlocked vehicle and used to gain access to the residence. *** A reminder from Police to ensure vehicles are locked and valuables removed while unattended***
Police located and arrested a male known to have outstanding warrants. The male was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Police recovered a stolen vehicle and a subsequent search found a prohibited firearm, ammunition, and a large quantity of methamphetamine. Police investigation has identified subjects of interest.

Several reports received regarding theft of vehicles and theft from vehicles, with one of the stolen vehicles being recovered shortly after the theft. Police are investigating.
April 16, 2023
Multiple calls of a single vehicle collision along Grand Drive were received. Investigation found the vehicle struck a utility pole at a high rate of speed after which the driver walked away from the collision to evade Police. The driver was eventually located and charged with dangerous driving and failing to remain at the scene.
April 15, 2023
Police were called to assist a family with a youth that was experiencing mental health crisis and acting out in extreme violence. Police intervened and temporarily apprehended the youth until further resources could be engaged.
Two separate traffic stops resulted in administration of alcohol screening which found both of the male drivers to be impaired. The drivers are facing penalty under impaired driving sanctions including a minimum 90-day licence suspension, 30-day vehicle seizure, and $1000 fine.

Police have received numerous complaints of the same scam that seems to be circulating around Camrose and targeting the elderly. The scammer gives the name John Karl with phone number 902-526-4558. The scammer is using a common “Grandparent scam,” preying on the emotions of a grandparent that their grandchild is in jail and needs bond money. The scammer is asking for large sums of money and is quite aggressive to the victims. If the scammer asks to meet in person, do not meet and immediately call your local Police. Please talk to your parents and grandparents to educate them about this scam. If you or someone you know has fallen for the scam, please call your local Police or RCMP to report it.

Police are investigation 2 separate occurrences of attempted vehicle thefts. Both vehicles were abandoned at or near their original location.
Police assisted Mental Health and Addiction staff with an apprehension of a male found to be a risk of self-harm and failure of self-care. The male was conveyed to a facility designated to assess and treat mental illness.
Police conducted several wellbeing checks and mediated numerous property related disputes throughout the day.

April 11, 2023
Police observed truck with a mismatched license plate in the east end area and conducted a traffic stop which resulted in the arrest of the male driver for driving contrary to a release order and driving prohibition. The male was also issued numerous tickets for insurance, registration and other driving violations.
A female reported a dispute with a male stating that he had damaged her vehicle by ramming into it with his. Police attended and observed the damaged vehicles on the driveway of a residence. Determined a civil dispute had escalated into property damage and during the mediation it was noted that firearms were being stored unsafely in the residence. Further investigation found one of the firearms was reported stolen. A 38-year-old male has been charged with numerous offenses including dangerous driving, assault, unsafe storage of firearms and possession of stolen property.

A wellbeing check resulted in locating a male that was in medical and mental distress within his home. Police assisted in transferring care to EMS.
A scam was reported where the victim received a text from a known and trusted number requesting money. Money was sent and it was later determined the assumed recipient did not make the request or receive the money. *** An important step in fulfilling a money transfer request is to verify the request is legitimate through alternate means such as a phone call or in person. Criminals have access to software that can mimic phone numbers to fool their victims. ***
A 62-year-old male was located and arrested on warrant related to uttering threats.

A theft was reported from a west end business. Police located the subjects nearby and determined to have stolen property in their possession and a 51-year-old male is facing theft charges.
Police recovered a vehicle reported stolen out of Ohaton the previous night. It was determined the vehicle was registered to the complainant, however, was part of an ongoing civil dispute regarding matrimonial property.

A break and enter to a garage was reported with an expensive bicycle being stolen. Police investigation found a male in possession of the bike and charges are pending.
April 7, 2023
Police were advised of a suicidal person that was leaving Camrose and further information indicated he was in possession of a firearm. The person was located by a family member who was able to de-escalate and obtain the firearm prior to Police arrival. The individual was apprehended pursuant to the Mental Health Act for assessment.
A hotel reported an unwanted guest who was intoxicated and refusing to leave. Police arrested the male and lodged him in cells to sober.
A traffic stop resulted in the male driver, 19, receiving an alcohol related roadside sanction among other violations.
Another intoxicated male was arrested and lodged in Police cells after causing a disturbance in a convenience store.
April 6, 2023
Police are investigating a fraud after receiving a report of suspicious account activity related to a deceased person.
Charges are pending against a 31-year-old male for assault and theft of property in relation to domestic violence.
Police responded to a disturbance between a male and female reported to be occurring in a public park. Police mediated the dispute and found the male, 40, to be in possession of illegal drugs and have outstanding warrants. The male was arrested and remained in custody for a bail hearing.

Police received a request to assist Edmonton Police and Child and Family Services in apprehending a child who was in Camrose and determined to be at risk. The child was apprehended without incident and transferred to Children’s Services care.
April 4, 2023
Police conducted a traffic stop and found the male driver, 37, to have warrants for traffic violations and unpaid fines. The male was arrested and transported to the Edmonton Remand Center.
A 35-year-old male was arrested for warrants related to driving a vehicle without insurance. The male was held in custody to serve default time or pay his fines.
Police are investigating a theft and multiple frauds after a wallet was reported stolen and bank cards being used at multiple businesses.

Police responded to a residence regarding a 48-year-old male who was suffering from severely diminished mental health and presenting a risk to himself and others. After several hours of surveillance and negotiation the male was apprehended pursuant to the Mental Health Act and conveyed to a mental health facility.
April 2, 2023
Police received a complaint of an impaired driver. The vehicle was located and investigation determined the 52-year-old male driver was impaired by alcohol. The male’s vehicle was seized and he is facing impaired driving sanctions.
April 1, 2023
Staff from a licenced premise reported damage to their property had occurred during business hours the previous evening. Police identified 2 males as being responsible and mediation resulted in the males paying for the damages.
Police responded to a report of a drug overdose and upon arrival a 60-year-old male was found unresponsive in the residence. CPR was initiated until EMS arrived on scene to assume care. Despite extensive lifesaving measures the male did not recover and was pronounced deceased on scene. The Office of the Medical Examiner is investigating.
RCMP advised they recovered an abandoned vehicle between Camrose and Wetaskiwin which was registered to a Camrose resident. Police determined the vehicle had recently been stolen without the owner’s knowledge. Investigation is ongoing.

A traffic stop resulted in the arrests of a male, 49, and a female, 44, after Police observed illicit drugs and illegal cigarettes within their vehicle. The male driver was also found to be unlicenced and is facing numerous charges.
Police attended multiple calls related to individuals at risk of committing self-harm. Police assisted EMS in mediation and the individuals were left in care of EMS.

Police arrested a male on warrants for failing to attend court on traffic related charges. A search of the male upon arrest found he was in possession of illicit drugs. The male was held for a bail hearing.
March 29, 2023
Police executed a search warrant on a residence where evidence was collected in support of an ongoing criminal investigation.
A 30-year-old male was located and arrested for outstanding warrants for fraud, property, and drug trafficking crimes. The male was kept in Police custody for a bail hearing.
A traffic stop was conducted on vehicle which did not have a licence plate. It was determined the male driver did not have any insurance, registration or any means to prove ownership for the vehicle. The vehicle was seized and the driver charge with numerous provincial offences.
Police assisted with a welfare check on a male that was reported to be in distress within his residence. Police found the male in medical crisis and assisted EMS in gaining access to the suite to provide care.
March 28, 2023
Police received a 3rd party complaint regarding a female that was being held against her will by a male. Police responded to a residence to discover that both had left, and the female was located a short time later and it was determined the complaint was unfounded. Police checks on the female found she had an outstanding warrant; she was arrested and later released from custody.
Police attended an east end business and arrested a male for causing a disturbance. Staff at the business did not wish to pursue and investigation and the male was released with a trespass notice.
While at Provincial Court, Police observed a male known to have fraud warrants. The male was arrested and held for a bail hearing.
March 27, 2023
Police stopped a vehicle and found the 72-year-old male driver had a suspended licence. It was further determined he did not have insurance, registration, and was using an unauthorized licence plate. The male’s vehicle was towed and he is scheduled to appear in court for numerous traffic offences.
A local hotel owner reported being assaulted by a female who refused to leave his property. The female was arrested and charged with one count of assault.
While on patrol Police observed a female known to have warrants. Upon the female’s arrest, Police located methamphetamine and cocaine in her possession. She was charged with possession of controlled substances and later released from custody.

A female reported being scammed out of $100 in iTunes cards. The cars were purchased after she was contacted about an overdue Amazon account for which required the cars for payment.
Police were called to a verbal dispute between a male and female where it was discovered the female had outstanding warrants. She was arrested and lodged in Police cells to await a release hearing.
March 23, 2023
A 44-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants for thefts of vehicles and other property crimes. He was held for a release hearing regarding over 15 provincial and property related criminal charges.
A Camrose resident reported a fraud that resulted from social media. The resident responded to a for sale advertisement and etransfered money for an item. The resident then determined the pick up address was random and was blocked from communicating with the seller. Police are investigating a person of interest.
A publicly intoxicated male was arrested by Police and held in cells until sober. At that time it was confirmed the male was displaying concerning behaviour related to mental health. He was taken to a health care facility for assistance.
Police apprehended a male pursuant to warrant under the Mental Health Act. The male was conveyed to a designated mental health facility for assessment.
A vehicle attempted to flee from Police during a traffic stop. The vehicle traveled a short distance before striking a median and becoming disabled. Police identified the driver as a 36-year-old male from Camrose who is facing multiple criminal and provincial charges related to driving.

An abandoned vehicle complaint resulted in the recovery of the stolen Dodge truck from yesterday.
Police are investigating a fraud after suspicious bank account activity was noted by the complainant.

A business owner reported a theft of business cheques that were fraudulently written to former employees. Police continue to investigate.
A mid 1990’s Dodge truck was reported stolen from a residence and observed by Police a short time afterward. Police attempted to stop the vehicle which fled from the city. Investigation continues.
March 20, 2023
A female was apprehended under the Mental Health Act after Police observed her displaying erratic behaviour that was likely to cause harm to herself or others. She was conveyed to a designated health facility for assistance.
An employee reported two males entered a liquor store and stole four bottles of alcohol. Police are investigating.
March 19, 2023
Police assisted an individual with applying for an Emergency Protection Order after it was disclosed that they were subjected to intimate partner violence. The Order was granted and served upon the Respondent.
Police attended a residence after a report of domestic violence was occurring. It was determined the male and female were having a verbal dispute which was mediated and both agreed to cease contact.
March 18, 2023
A suspicious person was reported by multiple businesses near the west end of the city. Police located an intoxicated female and determined she had been laying on the floor and refusing to leave. The female was arrested for public intoxication and held until sober.
A break and enter to an abandoned home was reported. Police investigation determined minor damage occurred and noting had been stolen.
Police mediated several disputes regarding property and child custody.
A traffic stop resulted in a 51-year-old male receiving a licence suspension and vehicle seizure for an alcohol related offence.
March 17, 2023
Complaint was received of a woman panhandling in the Cornerstone shopping area. Police located a 28-year-old female and determined she was with a male, 29, and neither were Camrose residents. Police warned the couple and they were observed leaving the city a short time later.
Staff at a licenced establishment requested assistance with an intoxicated patron that assaulted them after refusing to pay their tab. Police located the patron in a neighbouring bar where and was arrested after attempting to assault Police. A 53-year-old Edmonton man is facing charges of assault, food by fraud, and detrimental conduct in a licenced premise.
March 16, 2023
The Camrose Police Service has made an arrest and laid charges in relation into a shooting incident that occurred shortly after 10:00 PM on March 11th, 2023.
A male reported that while driving in the 4800 block on 50th Avenue, his vehicle was shot at numerous times. The male driver suffered minor, non life-threatening injuries as a result of this incident.
Four persons of interest from the area of the shooting were initially questioned by police in relation to this incident and ultimately determined not to have been involved.
An investigation further revealed that sometime between the evening of March 9th and the morning of March 10th, an unoccupied, parked vehicle had also been shot two blocks away from the aforementioned incident, and a male suspect was identified as the person responsible for both shooting occurrences.
On the evening of March 14th, with assistance from the Wetaskiwin and Central Alberta District RCMP Crime Reduction Units, and the RCMP Emergency Response Team, a 51 year old Camrose man was arrested and taken into custody without incident.
A search warrant on the male’s residence resulted in the seizure of several firearms, ammunition, and other evidence related to the shooting offences.
Police believe the male to be the only person responsible for these offences, and are not searching for further suspects.
Jason Brian Barkman has been charged with Attempted Murder, Assault with a Weapon, and numerous weapons offences.
Barkman’s bail hearing was adjourned and he remains in custody. His first appearance is set for Camrose Provincial Court on March 22nd.
The Camrose & District Victim Services Unit are actively supporting those who have been impacted by these incidents.

Police received a call from homeowners stating a truck had crashed into their house and the subjects were attempting to drive away. Police attended the scene where they located the 19-year-old male driver who was impaired by alcohol. Police determined the male was driving at a high speed when he lost control of the truck causing extensive property damage to 3 residences, including a heavy-duty fence, a Telus cable box, city signage, trees, light standards and the side of the garage and house. The male was issued impaired driving related sanctions, his vehicle seized, and charged with careless driving.

A cryptocurrency fraud was reported involving the grandson jail scam. The 76-year-old victim was contacted by an unknown person and advised their grandson was in jail and a large amount of money was needed for bail in the form of Bitcoin. *** Do not act on any requests from individuals that are asking to collect for things such as bail or taxes, especially if they are requesting unusual forms of currency. Police will never contact a person and request money for bail to be paid for any prisoner. If you are uncertain, contact the Police or another trusted source.
A 49-year-old male was issued a licence suspension and his vehicle seized after he was found to be operating a vehicle while impaired by drug.
A 44-year-old female was located and arrested on warrant. During the arrest of the 44-year-old she was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and cocaine, she was held in custody for a bail hearing.

A 1998 Dodge Ram truck was stolen from the 37 ave and 66 st area sometime overnight. Several other reports of attempted vehicle thefts were received from the same area.
A business in the industrial area reported 4 catalytic converters were stolen from vehicles in their compound.
A hit and run collision occurred at the Co-op grocery store where a parked taxi was struck by another vehicle described as a dark blue Dodge Dakota truck with a canopy. Police are asking for any witnesses to come forward with information.
Police attended a residence regarding a disturbance and determined an intoxicated male had assaulted a female during an argument. The male was arrested and held in Police cells until sober. He is facing one count of assault and to appear in Camrose court.

Police are seeking witnesses and information in relation to a shooting that occurred shortly after 10:00 PM on March 11th in the downtown Camrose area. A male reported that while driving in the 4800 block on 50th Avenue, his vehicle was shot at numerous times. The male driver suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries as a result of this incident.
Police questioned four persons of interest from the area near the shooting, however no charges have been laid at this time. Police are continuing to investigate and gather information in relation to this matter. Further information will be released as the investigation continues.

Police assisted in executing a PChAD(Protection of Children Abusing Drugs) order by apprehending a youth and transporting them to a safehouse for treatment.
A male was apprehended pursuant to the Mental Health Act after failing to comply with a community treatment order. The male was transported to a designated mental health facility within the province.

A fraud was reported regarding a purchase of an item over social media. A false post advertising the sale of an item led the buyer to e-transferring money prior to a meeting arrangement. It was then determined the seller used a random address and there was no actual item for sale.
Police observed a vehicle being operated in a suspicious manner. A traffic stop determined the male driver was under the influence of drugs and sanctions were implemented. During the investigation Police found the male was in possession of Methamphetamine; he was arrested and later released with various charges related to narcotics and traffic offences.

Police mediated a disturbance between a female, male, and other family. During the investigation police found the male had warrant. He was arrested and later released.
An abandoned vehicle report led to discovery that the vehicle had been stolen from a residence in Camrose without the owner’s knowledge. Polie are investigating.
Police received a report of a catalytic converter theft from a mid-2000’s Honda SUV. The theft occurred overnight while the vehicle was parked behind a residence.
March 5, 2023
Police stopped a suspicious vehicle believed to be associated to criminal activity which resulted in the arrest of the occupants. The male driver, age 29, was determined to have warrants for Aggravated Assault and Home Invasion and found to be in possession of weapons, break-in tools, disguises, and a quantity of illicit drugs. Further investigation determined the vehicle and licence plate were stolen, and the vehicle identification number had been tampered with. The driver was held in custody for a bail hearing on his warrants and several new criminal charges.
Two separate reports of damaged door handles on vehicles in the Augustana Campus parking lots were received. Both incidents are believed to be related to the suspicious person complaint which was recently reported.
Police responded to a dispute between a male and female. The situation was mediated, however it was discovered that the male had a warrant for unpaid traffic fines. He was arrested and held to pay the fine or serve default time.
Staff at the Bill Fowler Centre advised of a male that was refusing to leave the building. Police determined the 42-year-old male was contravening a trespass notice and he was subsequently issued a violation under the Petty Trespass Act.

Police responded to the Augustana area regarding male that was attempting to gain entry to the buildings and vehicles around campus. Police located the male responsible and he has been charged with provincial offences related to trespassing and tampering with motor vehicles.
A traffic stop was conducted with a male known to have numerous outstanding warrants for fraud, theft and other property related offences. Upon arrest Police noted the 44 year-old had break-in tools and several stolen items in his possession. The man was held for a bail hearing and is facing more than 12 new criminal and provincial charges.

Police received a report of a female that appeared to be intoxicated in public. Police located the female and found she was sober, however had outstanding warrants for Mischief. The female was arrested and later released to appear in court.
Police are investigating a fraud of over $3000. It appears the account was compromised from an online transaction.
A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a pick-up truck.
Police are investigating a fraud involving a vehicle which had a falsified Vehicle Identification Number. The vehicle was determined to be stolen from the Calgary area and resold using an altered VIN.
Police responded to a residential disturbance where weapons were believed to be involved. Police found one male with minor injuries; however, all parties became extremely uncooperative and would not provide details on the incident. During their investigation Police found one of the occupants to have traffic warrants for unpaid fines. The 38-year-old male was arrested and held in custody to serve time or pay his fines.

A Chevrolet truck was reported stolen from a residence in the 50 ave and 58 street area. The truck was locked and keys were in possession of the owner. The vehicle was later recovered in Vegreville, AB
A vehicle that was stolen from Camrose on February 15th was recovered in Leduc, AB. One male was arrested in relation to the theft.

Police investigation confirmed the intoxicated female from yesterday had numerus bottles of fragrance merchandise in her possession which were valued beyond $1600. The female was charged with theft offenses and later released to appear in court.
Police conducted a welfare check on an elderly male after Homecare staff advised they had not been able to contact him. Police found the male in medical distress and EMS assisted in getting him to care.
2 separate traffic stops resulted in both female drivers being arrested on warrants.
A 38-year-old male was arrested during a traffic stop after refusing to comply with a mandatory alcohol screening. His vehicle was seized and he is now facing sanctions under impaired driving law.
During late night patrols Police attempted a traffic stop with 2 Ford F350 trucks. Both vehicles failed to stop and fled from the city at high rates of speed. Police are investigating.
